Job Description
Do you have accounting experience? Luttrell Staffing Group is currently hiring Credit/Collections Specialist positions in Abingdon, VA.
The Credit/Collections Specialist will provide direct support to the Controller under his supervision and guidance by applying principles of accounting to compile and analyze financial and credit / collections information and prepare accurate financial reports to meet financial timetables and deadlines while maintaining a wide variety of accounting, analytical and administrative duties and functions within the department.

Job duties for Credit/Collections Specialist:
· Provide timely financial information to management, assist in month-end procedures, and prepare corporate reports
· Manage accounts receivable to maintain accuracy and integrity, process credit memos, and oversee cash activity
· Process payroll journal entries, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, and process journal entries as needed
· Conduct credit checks and assess creditworthiness of potential customers, maintaining the customer database
· Prepare and monitor sales tax returns, maintain compliance with tax laws, and manage tax-related documentation
· Generate monthly sales commission reports and resolve related discrepancies
· Maintain client relationships, records of company assets and petty cash, participating in financial analyses as required
· Collaborate with colleagues to achieve company goals, ensuring confidentiality and security of financial information
· Navigate ERP systems, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team
· Participate in financial analyses as needed
· Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files
· Comply with all company rules, safety policies and procedures
· Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications for Credit/Collections Specialist:
· Four-year degree in accounting or related field from an accredited college or university
· Ability to accurately analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and information
· Strong math and computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office programs (particularly Excel)
· Knowledge of finance, accounting, internal controls, budgeting and costing principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
· Wear PPE when visiting manufacturing environments
· Ability to stand/sit for duration of shift
· Ability to work with and navigate ERP
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
· Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
· Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
