Details for Temporary Librarian Assistant Position:

• $21.69 - 23.42 / Hour
• Part-Time (16-18 Hours / Week) | Short-Term Temp. (4-6 Months)
• Evening hours until 7:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am–4:00 pm required occasionally
• Zero Fees - you’ll never be charged for any screening service

Job Duties for Temporary Librarian Assistant Position:

• Provide guest passes and computer assistance to patrons
• Assist patrons with library-related questions, printing, and account management
• Use library database and management system to check materials in and out, pull holds, and update item status
• Support patrons with registration for classes, events, and summer reading programs
• Track, compile, and report daily statistics
• Perform detailed office support and a variety of administrative and customer service tasks
• Learn and use specialized software as needed
• Oversee group programs and stay informed on current library activities
• Perform light housekeeping of public areas, including dusting and cleaning tables
• Deliver superior customer service in person and over the phone
• Follow all policies and procedures in place and maintain a high standard of support
• Completes any other related tasks as needed

Qualifications and Desired Skills for Temporary Librarian Assistant Position:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: One year of related experience in a library, office, classroom, or as a graduate intern
• Proficient in standard office administration, equipment, and software including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
• Skilled in business writing, records management, and basic arithmetic
• Provides excellent customer service and maintains positive relationships with patrons and staff
• Accurately performs detailed office support and learns specialized software like Libby and e-Library
• Communicates effectively, follows instructions, and manages multiple tasks with good judgment
• Ability to lift up to 15+ lbs
