Key Duties for Burnishing Machine Operator positions:
- Operate or tend machines that heat treat/stress relief materials by radiant or induction heat and/or burnish to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, buff, hone or polish
- Position raw materials into machines using automated lifting/dumping systems
- Remove parts from machines after specified times and air dry or cool parts
- Record times that parts are removed from machines and document that objects have attained specified times and temperatures
- Move raw and finished materials by forklift
- Use ERP system to release and enter product to and from inventory
- Maintain clean and tidy work environment
- Other duties as assigned
These skills and abilities make you a good candidate for Burnishing Machine Operator:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic math skills
- Good communication skills with ability to read and interpret work instructions
- Previous related manufacturing experience
- Experience operating forklifts, machines and related equipment
- Ability to stand for duration of shift
- Ability to work in a hot environment
- Hand dexterity
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to squat, stoop, bend, kneel, twist and reach
