Job Description
Do you have experience operating forklifts or cranes? Luttrell Staffing Group is currently hiring Crane / Forklift Operator positions for an established partner in Bowling Green Ky.
  
  
Details for the Crane / Forklift Operator position:
- $18 / Hour
- 12-hour rotating shifts (6:00 AM–6:00 PM / 6:00 PM–6:00 AM)
- Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Job Duties for the Crane / Forklift Operator position:
- Receive, stock, and manage inventory of hot-rolled steel coils delivered by road and rail
- Operate cranes and forklifts to unload, move, and store inbound, in-process, and finished coils
- Position and stack coils in designated areas following established stacking and safety guidelines
- Perform pre-use inspections on cranes, slings, cables, and straps to ensure safe lifting operations
- Monitor crane load limits and complete basic preventative maintenance to ensure safe, continuous operation
- Unload rail wagons, open and close covers, and report any damage to leadership
- Inspect coils to verify quality and compliance with specifications and product control plans
- Record and verify coil data against shipping documents, placing nonconforming materials on hold
- Input inventory data using warehouse systems and handheld scanners, assigning storage locations
- Print and apply identification tags for tracking and traceability
- Transport coils to production areas using cranes, hoists, or conveyors
- Review production schedules and coordinate coil delivery to meet processing needs
- Train team members on unloading, warehousing, and equipment operation
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in warehouse and storage areas
- Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
- Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications and Desired Skills for the Crane / Forklift Operator position:
- High school diploma or equivalent; AS or Technical degree with equivalent experience is preferred
- 1-year experience in a crane operation and 1 year of experience of forklift operation in a manufacturing environment -preferably in steel/metal manufacturing
- Clear Interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Must have experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to stand for duration of shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
