Details for Direct Support Professional positions:
- Full-Time
- Temp-to-Hire
- $14/hr
- 1st Shift
- 8:30am-3:30pm and one weekend per month
Can you see yourself in this Direct Support Professional position?
- Assists staff with admitting individuals into the program
- Leads individuals in educational and recreational activities
- Report any physical or behavioral signs that might be important for the QMRP to know
- Responsible for the daily supervision and safety of all individuals, including responding to the physical, psychological, medical spiritual, emotional, and developmental needs of each individual
- Supports and promotes a clean and healthy environment of all individuals
- Provides written and verbal feedback necessary to plan, develop, implement and further the advancement of each individuals
- Works closely with designated individual to guide and support them in accomplishing behavioral, personal, vocational, educational, and independent living goals
- Required to use the company vehicle to transport individual as needed
- Helps prepare individuals for meals, scheduled groups and activities, counseling session, group dinners, outings etc. on a weekly basis
- Attendance at monthly staff meetings is mandatory
- Other duties as required
Do you have the Skills and Knowledge needed for this position?
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with Developmental Disabilities, i.e. group home, nursing home experience
- Current certification in CPR/First Aid
- Current CPR and TB Testing is required
- TOVA Training
- Good decision-making and communication skills are necessary
- Skilled at supervising individuals
- Ability to problem solve and requires heavy lifting over 50 lbs, standing for long periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, etc.
