Do you have manufacturing experience? Luttrell Staffing Group is currently hiring Extrusion Machine Operator positions in Knoxville, TN.
 
Details for Extrusion Machine Operator Position:
  • $15 / Hour
  • Rotating shifts: 3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next (3,4,3,4 pattern)
  • Rotating day shift (7:00 am – 7:15 pm) one week and night shift (7:00 pm – 7:15 am) the next
  • Schedule planned a year in advance, allowing for 2 weekends off per month plus a 7-day stretch off each month
  • Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Job Duties for Extrusion Machine Operator Position:
  • Mix thermoplastic materials (pellets or powder) with colored dyes before feeding into the extrusion machine
  • Set and adjust machine dials and controls to ensure product meets size, shape, and thickness specifications
  • Measure and test finished products to ensure quality standards are met
  • Keep hopper full of compound
  • Package product per work instructions
  • Complete quality checks as required on inspection sheets
  • Grind scrap material
  • Prepare packaging by assembling boxes and spools
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; store tools and materials properly
  • Follow documented quality system procedures and work instructions
  • Adhere to all policies and safety procedures
  • Perform other related tasks as needed
 
Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing experience required
  • Able to read, write, and perform basic math
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for up to 12 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights frequently between 5-50 lbs (two-person lift for >60 lbs)
  • Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist, and reach up to 36 inches in all directions, including overhead
  • Comfortable working in hot/cold temperatures with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and sharp edges
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools (calipers, wrenches, screwdrivers)
  • Ability to distinguish colors for product accuracy
  • Able to stand or sit for the full duration of the shift
