Job Duties for Grading Foreman | Construction Position:
- Oversee daily crew operations to complete projects safely, on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction while managing labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate resources using planning tools, lead safety meetings, and ensure accurate reporting and paperwork submission
- Monitor job costs, anticipate and resolve issues, and maintain positive customer and team relationships
- Hire, train, discipline, delegate, and develop crew members to foster a motivated, team-oriented environment
- Promote operational improvements, adapt to changes, and ensure proper care of company assets while pursuing personal and organizational growth
- Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
- Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications and Desired Skills for Grading Foreman | Construction Position:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five or more years’ experience in General Engineering Construction including grading, paving underground, concrete, demolition, etc.
- Proficient in surveying and grade checking using lasers and GPS with basic mechanical and arithmetic skills
- Skilled in reading construction documents, plans, and specifications with basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and Heavy Job
- Valid California driver’s license with clean, insurable record and DMV Pull program participation
- Strong visual and hearing acuity with ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English including business communication
- Certified in First Aid and CPR preferred
- Analytical thinker with positive attitude, sound judgment, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills
- Wear PPE as required (including vests, hard hats, hearing protection, eye protection, dust masks, gloves, etc.)
- Ability to stand for duration of shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
