Responsibilities for Health Information Management position:
  • Retrieves discharged patient records from the patient areas
  • Reconciles the discharged records to ensure that they are accounted for and follow up with the departments for any missing
  • Ensures the accurate and timely management of patient health records, including prepping, indexing, and scanning into the EMR
  • Indexes documents to the correct encounter and document type
  • Performs quality checks before releasing the record into the EMR
  • Review assigned analysis queue(s) daily and ensure timely processing of all assignments in the queues
  • Analyzes records and assigns deficiencies in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as hospital rules and regulations
  • Files paper records in appropriate location upon completion of quality check
  • Maintain the confidentiality, safety, and security of patient health information
  • Reports any system or equipment issues immediately to the operation’s manager to ensure timely resolution
  • Assists others with responsibilities as needed
Requirements for Health Information Management position:
  • Previous medical field experience is a plus
  • Pass screening process
