Job Duties for Human Resources Office Assistant Position:
- Answer main phone, maintain petty cash, and route calls/visitors to appropriate staff
- Open/distribute mail, scan invoices/RMAs for processing, and handle outgoing correspondence
- Maintain emergency evacuation bags, holiday decorations, onboarding folders, pre-employment packets, and interviewee files
- Update portal dashboard, bulletin boards, and inventory office supplies/equipment
- Greet coworkers, vendors, applicants; provide employee assistance while maintaining confidentiality
- Prepare reports, letters, labels; perform clerical support for HR Manager and Safety Department
- Support people-first culture through responsive service and clear communication
- Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
- Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications and Desired Skills for Human Resources Office Assistant Position:
- High school diploma/GED; 1-3 months related experience
- Read/understand simple instructions and memos
- Write basic correspondence
- Communicate effectively one-on-one or in small groups
- Basic arithmetic with whole numbers/fractions/decimals
- Calculate rates, ratios, and percentages; read bar graphs
- Follow written, oral, and diagram instructions
- Solve problems in routine situations
- Sit regularly; use computer/phone
- Occasionally stand/walk/climb/stoop/kneel
- Ability to stand for duration of shift
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
