Duties for Instrument Technician | Maintenance Mechanic positions:

  • Perform programming and maintain PLC, VFD and MMI documentation
  • Specify and order parts necessary to perform repairs or installations
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
  • Perform electrical construction work, running conduit, pulling wires, etc.
  • Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate and test a wide variety of industrial instrumentation
  • Make periodic preventative maintenance inspections of all metering control instruments and diagnosing existing or potential trouble
  • Lay out, install and place into service new metering, controlling and recording devices, calibrating as required
  • Perform machine shop repairs
  • Provide technical input to write and maintain standard operating procedure and job safety analysts
  • Establish work orders 
  • Troubleshoot and repair motor control centers, electromechanical drives and sub-electrical panels utilizing volt and amp meters
  • Clean and maintain work area
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications for these positions:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Associate degree in related field preferred
  • Journeyman level electrician preferred
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Minimum 3-5 years related work experience in electronics, pneumatic/hydraulic equipment, PLC'S, MMP'S, PC'S, programming, NEC, NFPA-70E and ISA standards
  • Experience working with 480V
  • Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and measuring tools
  • Hand dexterity
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to squat, stoop, bend, twist, kneel and reach
