Job Description
Do you have repair experience? Luttrell Staffing Group is currently hiring General Labor | Construction positions in Wytheville, VA.
Details for General Labor | Construction position:
· $15 / Hour
· Full-Time | Short-Term Temp.

Job Duties for General Labor | Construction:
· Assists with cleanup, snow removal, trash collection, street cleaning, mowing, and weeding
· Performs maintenance work and operates equipment for streets and drainage systems
· Maintains tools and equipment by cleaning and inspecting after use
· Drives trucks for loading, hauling, and unloading materials
· Conducts inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment, reporting defects
· Operates light to medium construction equipment, including brooms and mowers
· Participates in construction and maintenance tasks, like pavement cutting and ditch digging
· Aids in training employees on maintenance and repair tasks
· Operates various power equipment in the street department
· May serve on employee committees
· Works under close supervision
· Uses motorized vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks and street sweepers
· Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
· Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications and Desired Skills for General Labor | Construction:
· High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair, or a suitable combination of education and experience
· Knowledge of maintenance, construction, and repair equipment and methods; skill in operating related tools; ability to perform heavy manual tasks safely for extended periods
· Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with employees, departments, and the public
· Valid State Driver's license and CDL certification, or ability to obtain one
· Good close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
· Ability to stand for duration of shift
· Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
· Ability to work in varying temperatures, weather conditions, and noisy environments
· May occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock
· Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
