Responsibilities for Health Information Management position:
- Retrieves discharged patient records from the patient areas
- Reconciles the discharged records to ensure that they are accounted for and follow up with the departments for any missing
- Ensures the accurate and timely management of patient health records, including prepping, indexing, and scanning into the EMR
- Indexes documents to the correct encounter and document type
- Performs quality checks before releasing the record into the EMR
- Review assigned analysis queue(s) daily and ensure timely processing of all assignments in the queues
- Analyzes records and assigns deficiencies in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as hospital rules and regulations
- Files paper records in appropriate location upon completion of quality check
- Maintain the confidentiality, safety, and security of patient health information
- Reports any system or equipment issues immediately to the operation’s manager to ensure timely resolution
- Assists others with responsibilities as needed
Requirements for Health Information Management position:
- Previous medical field experience is a plus
- Pass screening process
