Details for Clinical Laboratory Assistant position:
- $18 / Hour
- 8am-4:30pm

Job Duties for Clinical Laboratory Assistant:
- Receive, log, verify, sort, and distribute medical specimens while ensuring accurate data entry in LIS and compliance with study protocols
- Identify, document, and resolve specimen discrepancies while coordinating with client services and internal teams
- Prepare, store, transport, and ship specimens according to handling requirements, including external lab delivery and courier coordination
- Support daily lab operations through filing, scanning, documentation, and maintaining workflow efficiency
- Perform equipment calibration, metrology tasks, QC checks, maintenance, and reagent preparation per required standards
- Collaborate with lab staff and departments to ensure timely processing and effective communication
- Maintain clean work areas, complete quality logs, and follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and regulatory guidelines
- Assist with staff training, competency tracking, workflow prioritization, and continuous process improvement
- Provide professional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with company policies and attendance standards
- Promote teamwork, operational efficiency, and a positive, professional work environment
- Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
- Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications and Desired Skills for Clinical Laboratory Assistant:
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or high-complexity testing environment preferred, with familiarity in CAP and/or ISO 17025 settings a plus
- Wear PPE (such as scrubs and lab coat) as required
- Strong multitasking ability with advanced communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse laboratory personnel
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional communication
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
