Job Duties for Procurement Specialist position:
- Develop and execute procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with production and business goals
- Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements
- Conduct market research and maintain a strong, competitive supplier base
- Build supplier relationships and negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement
- Collaborate with production, planning, and inventory teams to forecast needs and plan procurement
- Manage purchasing process from requisition through delivery to ensure timely supply
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and performance to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Partner with quality and engineering teams to ensure materials meet specifications
- Implement supplier quality programs, audits, and performance evaluations
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans
- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement team while promoting a high-performance culture
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Support sales team with order entry
- Operate and utilize molding and secondary machinery, including injection, compression, drill, sandblast, cutters, sonic welder, calipers, and microscope
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures
- Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications and Desired Skills for Procurement Specialist position:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, CORE, and IQMS
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents
- Skilled in report writing, business correspondence, and procedure documentation
- Effective communicator with ability to present information and respond to diverse audiences
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages, discounts, and basic geometry and algebra
- Apply logical thinking to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
- Solve problems involving multiple variables in structured environments
