Details for Purchasing / Procurement Specialist position:

The Purchaser will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating materials, goods, and services. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
Job duties for Purchasing / Procurement Specialist:
- Source and purchase materials, goods, and services necessary for company operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing and service levels
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock levels to ensure timely availability of materials
- Coordinate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory
- Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers as needed
- Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications for Purchasing / Procurement Specialist:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Purchasing (e.g., CPSM) is a plus
- Experience in vendor management or contract management
- Proven experience as a Purchaser or in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as familiarity with supply chain management principles
- Ability to stand for duration of shift
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
