Job Description
Do you have chemistry experience? Luttrell Staffing Group is currently hiring Residue Lab Technician positions in Santa Maria, CA.
Details for Residue Lab Technician position:
- $18-20 / Hour
- Tuesday-Friday | 2pm-11pm + Saturday 9am-6pm
- Occasional Late Evenings, Weekends and/or Overtime
- Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
- Zero Fees - you’ll never be charged for any screening service
- Weekly Pay
Job Duties for Residue Lab Technician:
- Prepare food and environmental samples for pesticide residue analysis
- Utilize laboratory equipment required for sample preparation and analysis
- Perform sample extraction, pesticide standard and reagent preparation
- Handle chemicals such as solvents and acids in sample extractions and reagent preparation
- Prepare chemical reagents and pesticide solutions as required in the analysis
- Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) and test methods
- Follow & perform Quality Control (QC) procedures - run QC samples as described in the QC schedule
- Maintain open communication with co-workers
- Maintain clean and organized workspace
- Perform pipetting and serial dilutions
- Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
- Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications for Residue Lab Technician:
- Science background (Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field) and/or laboratory skills
- Clean DMV record
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (Spanish capabilities is a plus)
- Strong math skills
- Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office
- Ability to stand and/or sit for duration of shift
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
