Job Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Accounting Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $24 per hour
Location: Kingsport, TN
Luttrell Staffing Group is built on Excellence, Grit, Integrity & Service, and those four values are what have made us the success we are today. We are adding a Staff Accountant to support accounting and finance functions. Our goal is to make a positive impact and help as many people as we can.
Essential Job Functions
- Utilize accounting software to record financial transactions and journal entries
- Complete various general ledger account reconciliations
- Create and maintain spreadsheets for various financial analyses and projects
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Provide financial data and insights to support decision making
- Assist with weekly and quarterly payroll tax submissions
- Assist branch and office staff with accounting and finance questions
- Manage and report unclaimed property to state municipalities
- Support treasury management duties, including positive pay, wires, deposit returns, etc.
- Manage business licenses and permits for all office locations
- Complete annual personal property tax returns
- Assist with data requests for various audits
- Serve as backup for accounts receivable functions, including customer payment allocations, credit checks, aging questions, etc.
Requirements & Competencies
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines
- Dependable and punctual
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of accrual-based accounting and U.S. GAAP
Physical Requirements
- Some lifting or carrying 0-30 pounds
- Prolonged periods in a stationary position
