Job Duties for Tool & Die Technician | Manufacturing: 

• Repair, maintain, develop, and build dies 

• Perform geometric dimensioning and tolerancing on assembly drawings 

• Address quality concerns in tooling operations 

• Implement engineering and customer changes 

• Repair tooling from bad hits and setups 

• Changeover tooling for different parts and ensure proper metal fits 

• Utilize circle grid analysis to minimize material stretch and breakage 

• Maintain nitrogen systems, preventative maintenance schedules, and spare parts inventory 

• Identify tool steels and conduct heat treatments 

• Study and maintain die transfer systems and feeding equipment 

• Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems for locating and clamping 

• Safely operate powered hand tools and moving equipment, including forklifts and cranes 

• Follow all policies and safety procedures in place 

• Completes any other related tasks as needed

Qualifications and Desired Skills for Tool & Die Technician | Manufacturing: 

• High school diploma or equivalent 

• At least three years of experience as a journeyman tooling technician or tool and die maker, preferably in the automotive industry 

• Strong knowledge of die stamping processes, welding tool steels for repairs 

• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) 

• Lockout/Tagout training preferred 

• Ability to stand for duration of shift 

• Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
