Details for Welder position:
- Full-Time
- Temp-to-Hire
- $17-$20/hr
- Monday-Thursday, 5:45am to 4:15pm – mandatory overtime
Can you see yourself in this Welder position?
- Responsible for welding metal parts together using specified wire welding processes to assemble and repair equipment
- Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and other tools and techniques
- Weld stainless steel and mild steel components and assemblies using late model weld equipment
- Observe tests on welded surfaces such as hydrostatic and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
- Inspect grooves, angles, seams, and gap allowances using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instrument
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
- Prepare weld seams prior to welding
- Maintaining a clean work area
- Other duties as assigned
Job requirements for this position:
- TIG welding experience a plus
- Ability to apply knowledge of welding machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Ability to apply knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of complex weldments and pressurized tanks
- Knowledge of modern wire feed welding machines and controls adjustments
- Basic knowledge of welding symbols
- Preliminary knowledge of inspecting grooves, angles, seams, and gap allowances using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments
- Capable of Flux Core Arc Welding
- Proficient in 1G; Capable of 2G and 3G MIG welding positions
- Capable of Plasma and torch cutting
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly
- Must be physically mobile, and able to stoop, bend, crawl, and climb ladders and irregular surfaces repeatedly
